Don't miss this important event that is taking place on Saturday, September 19th at Eisenhower Park from 2-4pm to “SAVE THE MUSIC” as we meet in support and solidarity for Long Island’s Music and Entertainment Industry! This is a demonstration aimed directly at the tyranical and unwarranted regulations that unfairly attack the live music and entertainment business. These regulations, including the newest, ‘no ticketed or advertised events’ are just another way to chokehold the already dying NY businesses and live entertainment industry.

On site, the organizers of this event will have on hand some prominent local musicians, business owners and supporters of “Save The Music!” Masks and face coverings are required as per the Governor’s orders where social distancing guidelines cannot be met (unless for medical exemptions). Please meet at Football Field #4, directly next to/across from Parking Lot #6/6A. Feel free to wear your bands’ merch and bring some with you! And if you ‘incidentally’ hear some music (wink wink) please feel free to DANCE!

This is a Non-Political rally as we all have different political opinions and affiliations. Remember we are all coming together to fight for the right to let the music play!

This is a family-friendly event. Please, no alcohol. Also, Please read the Nassau County Parks Department Rules & Regulations for additional information.

29th - Murderers' Row presents Mike Fornatale's '66 Show

Showtime: 7 pm - 11 pm

The Cutting Room

Back to The Cutting Room by popular demand -- Mike Fornatale (Losers' Lounge, The Left Banke, Moby Grape, The Monks, The Washington Squares, Mark Lindsay) leads the NYC all-star collective "Murderers' Row" through more songs from 1966 than you'll even remember.

Mike says: "I decided a few years ago that, starting with 1964 -- the year I started loving music again after walking away from it, while still in kindergarten, during the Fabian/Avalon/Rydell era (something I still haven't forgiven Philadelphia for) -- I was going to assemble a group of stalwart musicians and singers every year and do a show consisting of great songs from the corresponding year. We had a blast with 1964 and 1965 and I'm going to do this every year for as long as I can still stand up."

Hits! Misses! Things you've never heard! And just some stuff I like!  How many songs? TONS OF 'EM!! They're only two-and-a-half minutes each!

And it's all from 1966...like so many of the best things. The Beatles at Shea Stadium! Miranda rights! Batman and Star Trek! The Lunar Orbiter! The Oakland Coliseum and The Astrodome! The written Draft Deferment Test! Shostakovich's 11th String Quartet! Harold Wilson and Indira Gandhi! The introduction of the Australian Dollar! Daktari! The Dance Theatre of Harlem! The Chevrolet Camaro! The Chicago Bulls! Paul VI meets with Arthur Michael Ramsey! Bob Seagren! Independence for Barbados, Botswana and Lesotho! Peter Green joins the Bluesbreakers! Dick the Bruiser beats Mad Dog Vachon! Valley of the Dolls! Post-WW2 peace finally outstrips post-WW1 peace! Pet Sounds! Dark Shadows! The Tashkent Declaration! Tom Seaver! Dr. Zhivago, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf, and Thunderball! The Hovercraft and the Harrier! Paper dresses! The Butcher Cover! KEVLAR!!!

(And if any of the songs fall apart onstage, we can just blame the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution.)

This year we're proud to be presenting this show at the lovely Cutting Room again. a) We love The Cutting Room and b) if you really like the music of 1966 all that much, you might be someone who wants to sit down while you listen to it. We'll be playing two full sets with no repeats. Bring your own oxygen. Last year's 1965 show had 47 songs in it. This year we started off with a list of 123 must-have, cannot-possibly-cut-any songs and tearfully shaved it back to just over sixty. It took two months.

Tickets are on sale now! Get 'em here: (the link has been corrected to reflect the new date. Tickets purchased for the June 15 date will automatically be honored -- there's nothing you need to exchange.)   TICKETS AVAILABLE HERE
